Ash Cloud no barrier to Northern Ireland Print Competition final
For those who missed our print competition night, we had a rather unique print critique. In keeping with our new selection procedure the finalists were all selected from on-line image submissions, & the Judges - Mike Brookes Roper and Paul Callaghan - were to make their final decisions on the printed images which were critiqued on the night. Undeterred we managed to link Mike up by Skpe, and had a fantastic evening for all members present at the event.
However, no-one forsaw the the cancellation of Mikes flight from Inverness to Belfast, and unfortunately he was unable to be present at the event. Undeterred however, we managed to link Mike up by Skpe, and everyone present certainly were not in any way disadvantaged by the ash cloud that had already caused havoc across Europe. Many thanks to everyone involved in making this a fantastic evening for all our members.

For the past 8 years Jim has been privileged to have been selected as a judge on the (RPS) Royal Photographic Qualifications Panel.
This means that Jim may be invited to act as a judge when the Applied Professional Panel sit, which is twice per year (May & Sep). In the eight years Jim has been selected in ALL of the possible 16 sessions! Last year was to have been his final year , as 8 years is the maximum a member to serve, but Jim has now been approached by the RPS and they would like to retain his services as a Fellow judge for another Two Years.
I am sure you will agree that this is a great achievement and Jim is honoured to accept and he has confirmed with the RPS. They in return have requested that he attend as a judge over the next two years for ALL FOUR sessions.
